August 28th

Posted: August 29, 2009 in Family Happenings

Today was Ric’s birthday.
Went to the gym and took bodystep, bodypump, and a bodyflow class.
After I got home I baked brownies and cookies for Ric’s birthday.
After school was over, I picked up Aidrin and took her to Build-A-Bear. She was so happy. We were driving through the outside mall looking for the building and Aidrin started shouting, “I see it, I see it!
Mom, you can park over there and we can walk right to it.”
Aidrin was so happy. We got out of the car and Aidrin started to skip to the store. When were walking to the store the patio misters were going above us (since it was about 115 degrees outside). Aidrin was telling me that the sidewalk was a very cooled off sidewalk and that was a really good thing.
When we got there Aidrin wanted a wolf. The wolf was a little on the expensive side, so I said no. So Aidrin found a pretty pink unicorn, and named her Star. Aidrin didn’t need anyone to tell her what to do next. She remember exactly what needed to be done.
When we were done at Build-A-Bear we came home, Camryn went to a birthday party, and Terran went to a party at one of her friend’s house.
I took Ric to Outback for dinner.I tried the tilapia. It was really good. It was smothered in crab meat.
Great day!

August 26th

Posted: August 26, 2009 in Family Happenings

Half day today at school. The girls are really enjoying school so far this year. Terran seems to like her classes. She has a digital photo class that she likes.
The doctors office called with Terran’s blood results, that we had had tested the other morning. Looks like Terran’s thyroid is on the low side. So they are going to put her on some medication. Hopefully this will help her feel a little more energetic.

Just another Saturday

Posted: August 22, 2009 in Family Happenings

Just another Saturday around our house. We cleaned the pool. Worked on the yard. I took a nap. Lauren went to a birthday party at Skateland and came back with blue hair. Camryn was able to help her cousin babysit tonight. Camryn was so excited. She has been wanting to babysit so badly. Camryn and her friend made up fliers and passed them around the neighborhood. Today was Terran’s first day driving. Ric took her driving first, then it was my turn. It was kind of ok. She came close to some cars. She also went around the corners pretty fast. But that’s what a driving permit is for. To learn. So we will just keep going around the neighborhood, until she gets used to the car. I’m kind of scared to take her out into the real traffic.

Lauren’s blue hair (hard to see)

August 21st

Posted: August 21, 2009 in Family Happenings

So tired today. Went to the gym and took Bodystep, Bodypump, and Flow class. Just want to take a nap. I’m doing really good on the wellness challenge. Been diet coke free. 😦
Ric and I went shopping, then he bbq, and it started to storm. It’s quite a show outside. Lots of lightning and thunder.
Not much else going on. Terran looks better. Lips are going down. Not so full and luscious.

Never a dull moment

Tonight was spent in the ER. Terran was out riding her bike, she felt something on her leg, looked down and crashed into the back of a car with her face. She said, “What is that? What’s going on?” Then, she realized that she was falling over, and she had just hit a car.
She called me and asked me if I was home, and asked if I could come and pick her up. I could sense in her voice that something was wrong. I went around the corner, and she was limping rolling her bike along. I looked at her face and her nose and mouth had blood pouring out. I had her sister come and get her bike and had Terran get in the car and drove her home.
We then went to the ER.
ER wasn’t too busy when we got there. They were pretty fast. The doctor saw us. Terran’s teeth looked good. Nothing loose. We had X-rays taken.
Then we had to wait forever to have them read.
She is ok. She is just bruised and sore all over. Her foot hurts, but is not broken or sprained.
Her lips are looking like she had some work done. A little like Angelina Jolie lips.
I’m just really grateful that she is ok.

Curriculum Night

Posted: August 18, 2009 in Family Happenings, Uncategorized

Been a busy day today.
First a little ranting. The city decided to start widening the road next to the High School the week after it starts. They have had all summer to do this project. They wait until the school has been in one week. They did that the last time they widened the bridge on the same street. That construction took forever. The construction is such a nightmare. It is almost impossible to pick up Terran.

After school I took Terran to the DMV and she took the written test to get her driving permit. She passed. Now we just have to teach her how to drive. Weird to think that she is old enough to actually get a permit.

Tonight was curriculum night. Ric and I both went to Aidrin’s class. Her Teacher talked forever.
We had to split up and go to the other 2 classes. Seems like it’s going to be a fun year.
6th grade has the Science Camp field trip coming up in December.

On my wellness challenge. I’m doing great. Terran also decided to join me. She thinks that she can beat me. She doesn’t think that I can go very long without Diet Coke.

Wow – It’s been a long time since the last post. I can’t believe it’s been since March. Well, things are great. The summer has been great.

I’m starting a Wellness challenge today, and one of the challenges is to write either in your journal or you can blog. So I thought I’d better get back to writing my blog. A good 6 months of my life has gone by and I haven’t wrote anything. Maybe I can go back and update.
Anyway the challenge is:
48 oz water
30 minutes of exercise; 3 days, 10 mins 2 days
2 servings of veggies, 2 servings of fruit
No soda, beer, wine, unhealthy snacks, or bad fast food (anything fried)
No sweets
No eating after dinner/9pm
15 min of scripture reading (or spiritual text)
One journal entry (write a letter, thank you note, scrapbook, blog)
express sincere appreciation, love or praise to a family memeber or close friend
personal goal

I think that I can do this. The only thing that I am going to have trouble with is that I love diet coke, but oh well, it’s a challenge and I can do it.

August 12th – Aidrin asked me to feel her loose tooth. I reached into her mouth and pulled out her tooth. She was so mad at me she stormed off.
Now she’s a little bit toothless.

Planted the garden. The tomatoes have made it through July. They don’t look so hot, but they did make it. I planted cantaloupe, watermelon, bush beans, green onions, corn, summer squash, and cucumbers. So excited for everything to start growing again. I am also very thankful to my husband for carrying and emptying all the bags of dirt into my garden. Thanks honey!

Go Cards!

Posted: January 22, 2009 in Family Happenings

The Cardinals are going to the Superbowl.
Lauren was very excited about the game. Her class had a party on Tuesday to celebrate the win. They had popcorn and wore red.

We moved to Arizona in the summer of 2004. Every year, since we’ve been here, I’ve heard how much the Arizona Cardinals suck.
I think that it was last September, I was taking the kids to school, and I see this window sticker on a truck that says, “Please Arizona Cardinals don’t suck too much this year.” or something like that. I don’t think that I have the wording exactly right, but it’s close.
I tell Ric about this sticker, and we have a discussion on how the Cards suck every year.
So, this football season, after every game, I would asked Ric who won. The Cardinals seemed to be winning most of their games. Every time the Cardinals won a game, I would bring up the truck that I saw.
Sunday, January 18th, we have 3:00 church, Ric set the game to record on the DVR, and told everyone and anyone that he did not want to know who won the game. Anyway long story short. The Cardinals beat the Eagles. It was funny, I was listening to the announcers and all of them picked the Eagles to win.
Everyone is so excited that the Arizona is going to the Superbowl.
